Justification: Mon Water Project, launched in late 2022, addresses severe stormwater management challenges within the Four Mile Run (4MR) sewershed and adjacent Pittsburgh watersheds. Current grant support is moving MWP from a fiscally-sponsored project to status as a stand-alone 501(c)(3) organization. MWP is prioritizing the development of the necessary organizational structure, knowledge base, and stakeholder engagement to implement effective, long-term stormwater solutions. MWP is located within one of Pittsburgh’s most important sewersheds, where persistent and complex stormwater management issues resulting in water quality and quantity challenges disproportionately affect downstream residents in disadvantaged and disinvested communities.
